Essentials of Anesthesia for Laparoscopic Surgery (Masterclass)

Course Description

The Master class provides an exposure to commonly performed laparoscopic surgical procedures, both basic and advanced.  Participants for the Masterclass course shall observe about 80 - 85 live surgical procedures during their week of training.  The most common surgical procedures, performed laparoscopically, in order of frequency include Cholecystectomy, Groin Hernia repair, Incisional / Ventral Hernia Repair, Gastric Bypass, Sleeve Gastrectomy, Fundoplication, Stapled Hemorrhoidectomy, Minimal Access anal Fistula treatment, total laparoscopic hysterectomy, myomectomy and adhesiolysis etc.  Depending on availability the participants may also get to experience endoscopic thyroidectomy, thoracoscopies and even adrenal tumors.  The teaching will comprise a protocol based approach to anesthetic challenges while performing routine laparoscopic surgeries.

The Masterclass course is suggested for participants practicing laparoscopic anaesthesia, who are beyond the initial "learning curve." The course offers Didactic Lectures, and participant interaction with faculty and operation theater staff.
